{"value"=>"<p>Mel Goodstein (1934-1987?) collected radio scripts that document what was known as the Golden Age of Radio. Prior to television, the radio dominated with news, live music, comedy, variety shows and dramatic programs. Some of the most popular radio shows crossed over to television, such as the action-adventure show Sky King broadcasted episode \"The Flight to Nowhere.\"</p> <p>Many sponsors of the radio shows used the air-time to promote their products or company. For example, DuPont created Cavalcade of America, an anthology drama series, to rebrand their image after World War I.</p> <p>Goodstein's lifetime interest in scripts extended to the long-running soap-opera The Doctors broadcasted on N.B.C. from the 1960s to the 1980s.</p> <p>Goodstein's last known residence was in New York City.</p>"}

Popular series or individual shows represented in the collection include the anthologies Cavalcade of America, and The Chicago Theatre of the Air; and shows Crime Files of Flamond, the Gene Autry Show, and Jack Armstrong the All-American Boy. The collection also holds several televised scripts of the soap opera The Doctors; a television movie script for The Easter Promise written by Gail Rock, and a script for the children's show Quiz Kids TV.</p>"}
