abstract
{"value"=>"Paula Silberstein was a founding member of Saturday Theatre for Children, a program that was established in 1960 to encourage the development of theater productions for children. She was also a cultural resources specialist for the New York City Board of Education's Bureau of Audio-Visual Instruction, a position she retired from in 1975. The Paula Silberstein papers (1931-1986) contain a large amount of personal correspondence, a small amount of which touches on topics related to children's theater and the Bureau of Audio-Visual Instruction. Other subjects of the correspondence including visiting Israel and Silberstein's theater work with the Stephen Wise Free Synagogue. The collection contains a small number of records from Saturday Theatre for Children, dating from 1985 to 1986. These include budget information, fundraising information, executive board meeting minutes, and announcements about programs. The collection also contains notes, pamphlets, programs, press releases, and fliers from ASSITEJ/USA's 1984 World Theatre Symposium."}
