{"value"=>"<p>Marian Horosko is a dance historian and author. She studied at the Juilliard School and School of American Ballet and made her debut with Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo at age 12. She later danced with the Metropolitan Ballet and with New York City Ballet. During the 1960s she was film curator of the Lincoln Center Dance Collection and from 1963 to 1980 worked as a television and radio producer, writing and co-producing the Dance in America series from 1971 to 1974.</p> <p>She was a consultant and associate producer of dance programs for National Educational Television, with whom she produced a documentary on Alicia Alonso in 1969. Horosko travelled to Cuba as an associate producer and kept a diary while she was there. The film changed directors mid-production. To preserve her original focus, Horosko published a transcript of her tapes and notes of the three-week visit under the title \"Alicia Alonso: The Flower of Cuba.\" She also authored a series for Dance Magazine on the influence of Russian teachers on American Dance entitled \"Teachers in the Russian Tradition\" (1979).</p> <p>She has written several books, including <span class=\"title\">Martha Graham: Evolution of her Dance Theory and Training</span> (1991) and <span class=\"title\">Sleeping Beauty: The Ballet</span> (1994).</p>"}
