After serving as a bomber pilot in World War II, Hodes began dancing with the Martha Graham Dance Company. While dancing with Graham, Hodes also appeared in the Broadway productions <span class=\"title\">Paint Your Wagon</span> (1951) and <span class=\"title\">Kismet</span> (1953). After retiring from performance Hodes taught at various institutions, eventually becoming Dean of Dance at New York University. He also served as a Dance Panelist for the National Endowment of the Arts, and Dance Representative at The New York State Council of The Arts. Hodes began writing and blogging in his 80s.</p>"}
