{"value"=>"<p>Robert Evett (1922-1975) was an American composer and writer on music. From 1941 to 1947, he studied with Roy Harris in Colorado Springs; he then served as chairman of the music department of the Washington, D.C. Institute of Contemporary Arts, a position he held until 1950. He attended the Juilliard School from 1951 to 1952, where he studied composition with Vincent Persichetti and choral conducting with Margaret Hillis. He then returned to Washington, where he remained until his death. Evett’s involvement with musical life there led to commissions from the Pan-American Union, the National Symphony Orchestra, Georgetown University, and the Composer’s Forum for Catholic Worship.</p> <p>Source: Yvar Mikhashoff. \"Evett, Robert.\" Grove Music Online.
