Tracy began writing about dance in the 1980s, and wrote several books, including Balanchine’s Ballerinas: Conversations With the Muses (1983), and Goddess: Martha Graham’s Dancers Remember (1997). He edited and contributed to several newspapers including the New York Times, Vanity Fair, and Dance. In addition to writing about dance, Tracy wrote about film, music, art, and theater.</p> <p>Robert Tracy died in New York City in 2007.</p>"}
