In 1929, he founded El Ballet Español de Juan Martinez, which performed internationally. {"value"=>"<p>The Juan Martinez papers (1932-1962) consist of letters, notes, and official documents containing professional and biographical information. Materials are in Spanish, with the exception of some official documents in French and English. Most of the letters in the collection are from Cortijo Palacios, Martinez's business representative and property manager in France. Letters are addressed to both Martinez and his wife and dance partner, Antonia. Martinez's writings include notes on Spanish dances, a timeline of his career, and draft letters to a student and to his brother-in-law. Official documents include Martinez's will and death certificate, travel documents (including passport photographs), and a payment agreement for choreography done for Mariano Parra. Professional membership cards and business cards are also present.</p>"}
