{"value"=>"The collection consists mainly of letters and manuscripts by Helen Hunt Jackson, an American author who advocated for improved treatment of Native Americans. Letters written between 1864 and 1885 are to Richard Watson Gilder, Theodore Tilton, William Hays Ward, and others, and pertain largely to her writing and its publication. Manuscripts include partial drafts of the unpublished novel \"Elspeth Dynor\" and her poems \"Dedication\" and \"Barthmendi.\" Also present are canceled checks from the New York Tribune, autographs of Jackson and others, her wedding announcement, and an 1885 letter from William W. Ellsworth to Mr. T. Niles discussing \"Elspeth Dynor.\""}
