{"value"=>"Christopher Pearse Cranch (1813-1892) was an American writer, artist, and Unitarian minister. The papers consist of a small quantity of correspondence, poems, and financial documents. Correspondence is predominantly outgoing and pertains to both the creative and financial aspects of his art and writing. One letter by his wife, Elizabeth, is also present. Poems include several manuscript copies of his works, some emended in pencil. Financial documents include canceled checks and receipts for loans of his paintings to the Brooklyn Art Association and other unidentified institutions"}
