{"value"=>"<p>Tolly Rupert Broady was born in 1917 and received his early education in Virginia. He graduated cum laude from Tuskegee Institute in 1940, and subsequently taught sociology there. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he earned both a law degree and a Master of Arts degree in labor law from New York University. Broady practiced law in Queens and Nassau County and was appointed an administrative law judge in New York City in 1970. Broady was an early civil rights proponent and served as counsel to the New York State Conference of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.</p>"}
