World Republic was concerned primarily with the \"people's convention\" approach to world government; this also contrasted with many of the larger and more prominent groups of the time, which advocated for world government by working with the United Nations. When several of the leading world government organizations amalgamated to form the United World Federalists in 1947, World Republic actively refused to join, becoming the largest group not to do so. World Republic remained active through at least 1953 as one of the leading student world government organizations.</p>"}
