These consist primarily of research correspondence with historians and archivists leading to the publication of <em>The Historical Memoirs of William Smith</em> (published 1956-1970). Box 2 has Sabine's research papers of Gen. Nathaniel Woodhull which includes his research notes; correspondence regarding the Woodhull Monument in Jamaica, Queens; papers concerning Sabine's book <em>The Suppressed History of General Nathaniel Woodhull</em>; and research notes on Robert Bayard (1739-1819). Box 3 has correspondence and related materials regarding the publication of <em>The New York Diary of Lt. Jabez Fitch</em>. In addition, there is a manuscript written by Sabine describing American social customs in Queens, New York, as perceived by an English immigrant in the 1940s-1950s. The manuscript also includes sections on the beginning of his research into Gen. Woodhull and related local photographs.</p>"}
