Evert Bancker was also a deputy to the 2nd-4th Provisional Congresses of New York, speaker of the new State Assembly, and a member of the Committee of Safety, later the Council of Safety. Gerard Bancker was treasurer of the province and then state of New York. His brother Evert Bancker, Jr., was a surveyor, merchant and loyalist in New York City. Charles N.
