Letters are from Fort Hancock, New Jersey where Rosenberg was stationed before being shipped overseas and, beginning in May, 1918, from \"somewhere in France\". Rosenberg, who served with the 43rd Railroad Artillery, describes army life, the conditions and morale of the men, their recreational activities, the celebration of Jewish holidays, the constant rumors of peace and finally the jubilant celebration at the signing of the Armistice in 1918. Letters also concern family matters, news of acquaintances and comments on the news of the B. Forman Company. Two letters from 1919 were written from New York City where Rosenberg was travelling on business. The collection also contains several letters from Rosenberg to his mother, Anna Rosenberg, and two letters to Anna Cohen from Sam's brother Albert.</p>"}
