{"value"=>"
The collection consists of nocommercial sound and video recordings collected by the American pianist, Paul Jacobs. The majority of the collection is made up of performances by Paul Jacobs. These recordings include both recitals and unreleased recording session takes.

Jacobs particularly favored the works of American composers such as Elliott Carter, Charles Rosen, Frederic Fzewski, Allen Shaen, Virgil Thomson, Joan Tower, and Stephan Wolpe, all of which are represented in this collection. Concerts held to memorialize his death in 1983 are found in videocassette format, and most concisely illustrate his musical likes, passions and achievements.

The collection also includes two sound recording interviews with Jacobs, from 1976 and from 1983.
"}
