{"value"=>"<p>Leopold Badia (1905-1976) was an actor for many years, appearing in a number of Broadway shows, on radio, and in stock and repertory productions in several cities. Born in Seville, Spain, Jan. 2, 1905, but long a resident of Brooklyn, N.Y., Leopold Badia made his Broadway debut in a show called SPEAK EASY in 1927. The following year he appeared in the premiere of Sophie Treadwell's MACHINAL with Clark Gable. Other Broadway credits include A BELL FOR ADANO (1944), the 1946 revival of CYRANO DE BERGERAC opposite José Ferrar, and THE GENTLEMAN FROM ATHENS (1947) with Anthony Quinn. Badia was an active member of Actors Equity Association, and often served as Equity Deputy for the shows in which he appeared. Leopold Badia died on July 2, 1976.</p>"}
