{"value"=>"<p>Judith Scott was born Judith Skwiot in Chicago, ca. 1937. She attended Mundelein College, where she received her degree in 1958, majoring in Theater and Psychology. She completed a Masters Degree in Dance Education at Northwestern.</p> <p>In 1963 she joined Gus Giordano in forming Dance Inc.-Chicago. As well as performing, Scott was the Modern Dance choreographer for the group. During her time with Dance Inc.-Chicago, she also taught Modern Dance at the University of Jamaica in the West Indies, and at Northwestern University.</p> <p>From 1969-1975 Scott taught at Barnard College in New York City. During that time, she also formed Judith Scott Dance Company and performed pieces throughout the metropolitan New York area.</p>"}
