{"value"=>"<p>Johnson-Liff Associates was a casting agency established in 1975 by casting director and former stage manager Geoffrey Johnson and Vincent Liff. From its inception, Johnson-Liff was employed by high profile Broadway productions, such as hit musicals like <span class=\"title\">The Wiz</span> (1975), <span class=\"title\">Ain't Misbehavin'</span> (1978) and <span class=\"title\">Dreamgirls</span> (1981) as well as prestigious plays, including Tom Stoppard's <span class=\"title\">Night and Day</span> (1979) and Peter Schaffer's <span class=\"title\">Amadeus</span> (1980).</p> <p>During the 1980s and 1990s, Johnson-Liff dominated the New York theater casting scene by casting many of the imported hit British mega-musicals which dominated Broadway in that era, such as <span class=\"title\">Cats</span>, (1982), <span class=\"title\">Song and Dance</span> (1985), <span class=\"title\">Me and My Girl</span> (1986,) <span class=\"title\">Les Miserables</span> and <span class=\"title\">Starlight Express</span> in (1987), <span class=\"title\">The Phantom of the Opera</span> (1988), <span class=\"title\">Aspects of Love</span> (1990), <span class=\"title\">Miss Saigon</span> (1991) and <span class=\"title\">Sunset Boulevard</span> (1994).</p> <p>Johnson-Liff Associates also cast new American Musicals, such as <span class=\"title\">The Robber Bridegroom</span> (1976), <span class=\"title\">The 1940's Radio Hour</span> (1979), <span class=\"title\">Baby</span> (1983), <span class=\"title\">The Rink</span> (1984), <span class=\"title\">Wind in the Willows</span> (1985), <span class=\"title\">Raggedy Ann</span> (1986), <span class=\"title\">City of Angels</span> (1989), <span class=\"title\">Kiss of the Spider Woman</span>(1993), <span class=\"title\">Victor / Victoria</span> (1995), <span class=\"title\">Big</span> (1996), <span class=\"title\">Steel Pier</span> and <span class=\"title\">Side Show</span> (1997), <span class=\"title\">Swing!</span> (1999), <span class=\"title\">Contact</span> and <span class=\"title\">Jane Eyre</span> (2000) and <span class=\"title\">The Producers</span> (2001) as well as musical revivals such as <span class=\"title\">The Most Happy Fella</span> (1979), <span class=\"title\">Oliver!</span> (1984), <span class=\"title\">3 Penny Opera</span> (1989), <span class=\"title\">Guys and Dolls</span> (1992), <span class=\"title\">Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat</span> (1993), <span class=\"title\">A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum</span> (1996), <span class=\"title\">Kiss Me, Kate</span> (1999), <span class=\"title\">Jesus Christ Superstar</span> (2000) and <span class=\"title\">Flower Drum Song</span> and <span class=\"title\">Oklahoma!</span> (2002).</p> <p>Plays cast by Johnson-Liff include original plays such as <span class=\"title\">Poor Murderer</span> (1976), <span class=\"title\">The Elephant Man</span> (1979), <span class=\"title\">Division Street</span> (1980), <span class=\"title\">Frankenstein</span> and <span class=\"title\">The Dresser</span> (1981), <span class=\"title\">Total Abandon</span> (1983), <span class=\"title\">Execution of Justice</span> (1986), <span class=\"title\">Les Liaisons Dangereuses</span> (1987), <span class=\"title\">Lend Me a Tenor</span> (1989), <span class=\"title\">Lettice and Lovage</span> (1990), <span class=\"title\">Indiscretions</span> (1995) <span class=\"title\">Moon Over Buffalo</span> (1995), <span class=\"title\">Waiting in the Wings</span> (1999) and <span class=\"title\">The Smell of the Kill</span> (2002) and revivals such as <span class=\"title\">Mornings at Seven</span> and <span class=\"title\">The Philadelphia Story</span> (1980), <span class=\"title\">Macbeth</span> (1981), <span class=\"title\">Cyrano de Bergerac</span> and <span class=\"title\">Much Ado About Nothing</span> (1984), <span class=\"title\">Loot</span> (1986), <span class=\"title\">The Merchant of Venice</span> and <span class=\"title\">Orpheus Descending</span> (1989) and <span class=\"title\">Private Lives</span> (1992).</p> <p>In addition to its work in theater, Johnson-Liff worked simultaneously in the mediums of film and television. Their small screen credits include television movies such as, <span class=\"title\">The Last Tenant</span> (1978), <span class=\"title\">Hollow Image</span>, <span class=\"title\">My Old Man</span> and <span class=\"title\">You Can't Go Home Again</span> (1979), <span class=\"title\">Death Penalty</span> (1980), <span class=\"title\">Pals</span> (1981), <span class=\"title\">Little Gloria...Happy at Last</span> (1982) <span class=\"title\">Threesome</span> (1984), <span class=\"title\">Picking Up the Pieces</span> (1985) <span class=\"title\">Intimate Strangers</span> (1986) and <span class=\"title\">The Image</span> (1990) and television series', including <span class=\"title\">Ball 4</span> (1976), <span class=\"title\">The Andros Targets</span>, <span class=\"title\">Edward and Mrs. Simpson</span> and <span class=\"title\">The Holocaust</span> (1977), <span class=\"title\">Co-ed Fever</span> (1979), <span class=\"title\">Another World</span>, from 1983-1995, <span class=\"title\">It's Not So Easy</span> (1983), <span class=\"title\">Full House</span> and <span class=\"title\">Kate and Allie</span> (1984), <span class=\"title\">All Is Forgiven</span> (1986), <span class=\"title\">Piece of Cake</span> (1988) and <span class=\"title\">Soul Man</span> (1997).
