In 1943 his collection of books, pamphlets, letters, printed ephemera, and artifacts was broken up and sold at auction by Sothby and Company.</p> <p>This collection is one of the lots sold at the auction. It is the handwritten catalog of the books, pamphlets, time tables, passes, maps, illustrations, artifacts, and other materials that comprised Phillimore's railroad collection.
