{"value"=>"<p><span class=\"persname\">Jean Stock Goldstone</span> was born ca. 1906. While he earned his living as a theater mechanic, carpenter, and electrician, he wrote plays, collaborated with other playwrights, and adapted plays. In 1941 he was hailed as having an uncanny ability to predict, with almost complete accuracy, whether a play would or would not be a commercial success. For a time, he read plays for Otto Preminger.</p>"}
