{"value"=>"<p>James A. MacColl was born in 1912 in New York City. He attended the Choate School, Wallingford College and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.</p> <p>Mr. MacColl made his professional debut in ENCORE in the 1930s. He appeared in LIFE BEGINS AT 8: 40, BOY MEETS GIRL, THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER, TOO MANY GIRLS, THE DUCHESS MISBEHAVES and POLONAISE.</p> <p>During World War II Mr. MacColl wrote dialogue and sketch material for THIS IS THE ARMY and was in both the stage and film versions.</p> <p>Mr. MacColl wrote many specialty numbers, including lyrics and music, both for himself and others. He worked in night clubs both in America and abroad. Mr. MacColl died April 18, 1956.</p>"}
