{"value"=>"<p>The collection consists of recorded master games from various master chess tournaments in Europe. The game scores were transcribed from English, German, Russian, and Italian newspapers and magazines. They appear on 8 1/2 x 11 loose leaf paper, one game per page. Also present are score tables for each tournament represented in the collection. The collection covers the era that is known as the romantic age of chess when modern theories were developed. The games of the following world champions are included: A. Alekhine (France), J. R. Capablanca (Cuba), Emmanuel Lasker (Germany), M. Botvinnik (Russia), M. Euwe (Netherlands) and V. Smyslov (Russia), There are also games by successful chessmasters and theorists such as Richard Reti, Aaron Nimzovitch, Siegbert Tarrasch, R. Spielman, E. Grunfeld, and American champions Frank Marshall and Edward Lasker. Some of the major tournaments included in the collection are: San Sebastian (1912), Mannheim (1914), London (1922), Carlsbad (1923), Baden-Baden (l925), Pistyan (1922), and the Tschigorin Memorial Tournament (Moscow, 1947).</p>"}
