The notes focus on the Eliot/Elliot families of New York and trace their lineage back to England. The collection also contains a scrapbook with clippings related to the Eliot and Elliot families from 1887 to 1908. The scrapbook includes obituaries, wedding announcements, advertisements from Eliot/Elliot owned businesses, crime reports, playbills, and other material generated about the Eliot/Elliot family. There is also correspondence contained in the scrapbook relating to research on individuals mentioned in the clippings"}
