There is also an incomplete review of Anne Shannon Monroe's novel \"Behind the Ranges,\" written partly in the hand of the author and partly in the hand of Anna Catherine Markham; a holograph poem by George Sterling, \"To Edwin Markham on his 70th birthday, April 23, 1922\"; drafts for Markham's anthology of biographical sketches of eleven English poets; and agreements, forms, and statements from the American Play Co.; as well as other manuscript material and a notebook. The typescripts include early and later drafts of poems; an incomplete, emended typescript of the autor's introduction to \"Edgar Allan Poe\"; drafts of \"Lincoln, the man and the martyr\"; and proofs of three sketches of Markham for \"Who's who in America,\" vol. 17, 1932-33. The correspondence includes letters from the author to Ambrose Bierce, Eugene Brewster, Babette Deutsch, Professor L. Dupont Doyle that includes materials on Ambrose Bierce; to Leonore Mackay; to Robert Mackay; to Percival Pollard, and others. There are also letters from J. T. Graves to Anna C. Markham; from Anna C. Markham to Ambrose Bierce; from S. S. McClure to Leonore Mackay; and from Bernard Shaw to Sir John Collings Squire relating to the author. There is a letter to Markham from the Madison Square Garden Gymnasium in New York City, dated 1923.</p>"}
