The fifty-two page manuscript is unsigned and undated; some pages are watermarked 1794. An early 20th century owner provided a manuscript title-page in calligraphy attributing the work to Burke, as well as a complete typed transcript and brown morocco binding. Recent scrutiny by scholars led them to believe the hand is in fact almost certainly not Burke's, and the prose is very unlikely to be by Burke, rather, an example of \"vulgar Burkeanism\" of the late 18th century.
