{"value"=>"<p><span class=\"title\">The Adventures of Frank Merriwell</span> was a juvenile adventure program based on the novels by <span class=\"persname\">Gilbert S. Patton</span>, written under the name <span class=\"persname\">Burt L. Standish</span>. It was broadcast from March 26, 1934 until June 22, 1934, and again from Oct. 5, 1946 until June 4, 1949 on NBC.</p> <p>The later series consisted of complete thirty minute episodes. whose featured character was Frank Merriwell, Yale University athlete.</p> <p>The cast of the later series consisted of: <span class=\"persname\">Lawson Zerbe</span> as Frank Merriwell; <span class=\"persname\">Elaine Rost</span>, as his girlfriend, Inza Burrage; <span class=\"persname\">Hal Studer</span> as Bart Hodge; <span class=\"persname\">Patricia Hosley</span> as Elsie Bellwood. The announcer was <span class=\"persname\">Mel Brant</span>. The music was performed by <span class=\"persname\">Paul Taubman</span>, and the writers were Ruth and <span class=\"persname\">Gilbert Brann</span>, with <span class=\"persname\">William Welch</span>.</p>"}
