Correspondence predominantly consists of letters both to and from Kleiman relating to her work for the New York City Planning Commission; and to and from various neighborhood, community, and historic preservation groups relating to issues of urban development, historical landmarking, neighborhood rezoning, and economic development. Reports document the work of the New York City Planning Commission relating to SoHo, as well as commercial district, light, and air regulations outlined by the City of New York, and guidelines for the New York Landmark Conservancy's property easement program. Research files include maps and drawings of SoHo blocks and buildings, vacancy surveys, data relating to loft buildings in SoHo, information on manufacturing and industry in Lower Manhattan, information on galleries and working artists in SoHo, and other information pertinent to Kleiman's work with the New York City Planning Commission on the rezoning of SoHo.</p>"}
