He sought out Whitman's associates during his research into the poet's life and also collected Whitman-related manuscripts as well as promoted scholarship about Whitman. Elliot's research culminated in the publication of <span class=\"title\">Walt Whitman as Man, Poet, and Friend: Being Autograph Pages from Many Pens</span> (1915). He continued to collect and research Whitman for the rest of his life.</p>"}
