He lived in Troy, New York, married Christina Barringer (1758-1838), and had two daughters, Matilda Van Schaick and Margaret Van Schaick, who survived to adulthood.</p> <p>Gerret G. Van Schaick died in Troy, New York in 1842.</p> <p>Margaret Van Schaick married Conrad Sharp.</p> <p>Matilda Van Schaick married John Fonda. They had six children: Maria Fonda who married Henry Betts; Christina Fonda who married Thomas Rickard; Margaret Eliza Fonda; John M. Fonda; William W. Fonda; and Peter Fonda.</p>"}
