{"value"=>"<p>Joan Didion (1934-2021) was an American journalist and author. In 2003 Didion's daughter, Quintana Roo Dunne, was admitted to the hospital and placed on life support. Shortly after visiting her, Didion's husband, John Gregory Dunne, suffered a heart attack and passed away. Didion published <span class=\"title\">The Year of Magical Thinking</span> in 2005. The memoir documents Didion's experience of grief after the loss of her husband, while her daughter remained in a coma.</p> <p>Didion later wrote an adaptation of the memoir as a play, which was produced in 2007. Vanessa Redgrave performed <span class=\"title\">The Year of Magical Thinking</span> as a monologue. The playscript was later published in 2008.</p>"}
