In 1973, the CAC became a separate nonprofit entity and relocated to 62 Hamilton Terrace in Harlem, New York City. Partnering with twelve schools, the CAC hosted after-school art workshops in painting, printmaking, ceramics, puppetry, photography, filmmaking, writing, graphic design, printing, sewing, and costume design for over two thousand students in its first year. Artist Betty Blayton-Taylor served as executive director from the program's inception, overseeing the organization's expansion in the subsequent decades.</p>"}
