{"value"=>"
Don Redlich (born 1929) is a modern dancer, choreographer, and teacher who studied under Hanya Holm (1893-1992), and who founded the Don Redlich Dance Company in 1966. Redlich first studied dance at Winona State University and later attained his Master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1953. He moved to New York City in 1954, developing his own choreographic style while performing in productions by Holm, Doris Humphrey, and Anna Sokolov, among others.

Founded in 1966, the Don Redlich Dance Company's repertoire featured choreography by both Redlich and Holm, including Holm's Rota. Straddling modern and postmodern dance, Redlich's work includes Passin' Through (1959), Earthling (1963), L'Histoire du Soldat (1966), Patina (1974), and Traces (1975).

A small company of five, Gladys Bailin, Jennifer Donohoe, Billy Siegenfeld, and Barbara Roan were the original members of the Company alongside Redlich. Bailin, Donohoe, and Roan had left by 1972, their spots filled by Irene Feigenheimer, Elina Mooney, and Luly Santengelo. Sheldon Soffer Management, Inc., represented the Company by this time and helped to promote their work. By 1975, the Company included Jim Clinton, Joan Finkelstein, Robyn Cutler, and Kathryn Appleby. Redlich and his Company often toured the United States, giving lectures, demonstrations, and performances throughout the country.
"}
