{"value"=>"
Leon Danielian (1920-1997) was a ballet dancer, choreographer, and teacher best known for his association with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo. He danced with the company from 1943 to 1961, and then spent the next thirty years teaching ballet. Danielian briefly served as co-director of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo in New York City, and then as director of the American Ballet Theatre School from 1967 to 1980. From 1983 to 1991, he taught in the Theatre and Dance department at the University of Texas at Austin.

Georgia Hiden (1915-2011) was a ballet dancer and teacher who danced for a number of New York City companies including the School of American Ballet, Ballet Caravan, and Dance Players. She joined the Ballet Society in 1946, and spent the 1950s and 1960s in Europe, where she taught dance at the Vienna State Opera Ballet and Stuttgart Ballet. She spent the rest of her career teaching dance, and returned to New York City, where she taught dance to children.
"}

{"value"=>"
The collection consists exclusively of scores, which date from 1928 to 1983. The scores are arranged alphabetically by composter, title, or dance company name. Most of the scores are not annotated, and contain little indication about how they are connected to Leon Danielian or Georgia Hiden. Some of the scores have either Danielian or Hiden's names handwritten on the front cover. One score, Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, includes both dancers' names. The 1939 Robert Schumann score for Carnaval also includes a 1939 inscription to Danielian, and a flyer for a Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo performance at the Civic Opera House in Chicago.
"}
