Friedman attended the University of Missouri and earned a B.A. in Journalism in 1951. He spent two years as an Air Force officer during the Korean War and after his service established himself as a writer for men's magazines. Friedman became the executive editor of three major men’s magazines \"Men,\" \"Male,\" and \"Man’s World,\" before publishing his first novel \"Stern\" in 1962. Friedman has been well known for his off-Broadway hit \"Steambath,\" and he has since published another seven novels, several short stories, plays and numerous screenplays including \"Splash\" in 1984</p>", "encodinganalog"=>"500"}
