William Smith's letter, written at Chester, Maryland, 1786 September 11 to Rev. Dr. White at Christ Church, Philadelphia, forwards a letter (not present) from Dr. Murray; mentions his plan to go to Annapolis the following week; and asks for White's opinions, prior to the upcoming General Convention of the Episcopal Church, regarding \"the requisitions of the English bishops.\""}
