{"value"=>"Mary Wigman (1886-1973) was a German dancer, teacher, and choreographer. She is recognized as one of the founders of modern dance, and as a pioneer of expressionist dance. Her early performances were silent or danced with percussion only. The photographs and postcards in this collection document a portion of Wigman's works from the period 1926 to 1947. The photographs are presented in accordion style photo albums and are of Wigman dancing solo. The postcards mostly depict solo work, but include two group performances."}
