abstract
{"value"=>"This collection consists of scrapbooks and loose photographs concerning Harold Ross, founder and editor the <span class=\"title\">New Yorker</span>, and his family. The scrapbooks were assembled by Ross's daughter, Patricia Ross Honcoop. The largest scrapbook, titled \"My Father\" (volume 1) contains photographs of Ross as a child; in uniform during World War I; at home in Stamford, Connecticut; with Humphrey Bogart and James Cagney; and with other friends and associates. The scrapbook also includes official documents related to his service in the war; letters he wrote home from Paris in 1918; a short note from Noel Coward; a memorandum from <span class=\"title\">New Yorker</span> managing editor James M. Cain; a memorandum from Ross regarding the May 2, 1931 issue; and clippings. The other scrapbooks (volume 2 and box 1) contain photographs of Ross, photographs of Patricia Ross with her maternal family, clippings, and letters. Scrapbooks are in fragile condition and one is disbound."}
