His letters to his friend David Solomon, an editor at <span class=\"title\">Playboy</span>, date from 1963 to 1965 and discuss his personal life and stories he was working on. The letters recount his experience attending a Russian film awards ceremony with actors Innokenty Smoktunovsky and Tatiana Samoilova, and contain passing references to Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Gregory Corso, Ray Charles, Pete Hamill, Allen Ginsberg, and others."}
