{"value"=>"<p>William Bross Lloyd (1875-1946) was an American lawyer. His wife, Lola Maverick Lloyd (1875-1944), was a social activist for world government. While residing in William's hometown of Winnetka, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, the couple had four children: Jessie Bross Lloyd (b. 1904), Mary Maverick Lloyd (b. 1906), William Bross Lloyd Jr. (b. 1908), and Georgia Lloyd (b. 1913). All four children were writers and activists for progressive issues.</p> <p>Around 1930, William Bross Lloyd purchased land near Brandon Hill and Red Hills in Montego Bay, Jamaica. His estate, known as Bu Saaba, was built on Brandon Hill and the family vacationed there frequently throughout the 1930s and 1940s. The three daughters inherited the land upon Lloyd's death in 1946 and began renting out Bu Saaba in the 1950s. In the 1960s, a portion of the thirty acres at Red Hills was made into a coconut plantation, while other parts were sold. The family continued to rent out Bu Saaba into the 1980s.</p>"}
