{"value"=>"<p>Elizabeth McCann and Nelle Nugent are producers who ran a theater production company. Elizabeth McCann and Nelle Nugent became friends while working for the Nederlander Organization, one of the largest operators of theaters in the United States. In 1975, they decided to partner, and founded McCann & Nugent Productions the following year. For nearly a decade, their company produced or managed numerous plays, and was known as one of the most successful partnerships of its time. They brought several Royal Shakespeare Company productions to Broadway, such as Cyrano de Bergerac (1984), The Dresser (1981), and The Glass Menagerie (1983). They won several Tony awards for productions such as Dracula (1977), The Elephant Man (1979), Morning's at Seven (1980), Amadeus (1980), and The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby (1981). In 1985, Nugent decided to pursue film production and McCann continued to work with theater.</p>"}
