Later in his life he worked for the United Hospital Fund, and as a consultant who advised New York City officials on AIDS policy. He died of the disease in 1991.</p>"}

{"value"=>"<p>The John Griggs research materials (1945-1984) document Griggs's research for his book <span class=\"title\">The Films of Gregory Peck</span>, through interviews, photographs, a manuscript, posters, and clippings.</p> <p>Griggs interviewed Gregory Peck over three days in November, 1974 during and after the USA Film Festival in Dallas, Texas. Other interviews of Peck are recordings of the actor's appearance during the festival; on the Phil Donahue Show in 1976; and at at tribute to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at the Museum of Modern Art in 1977. Griggs also interviewed the film director Henry King, who worked often with Peck, in 1978. Inquiries regarding audio materials in the collection may be directed to the Billy Rose Theatre Division (theatrediv@nypl.org). Audio materials will be subject to preservation evaluation and migration prior to access.</p> <p>The photographs consist mostly of publicity stills for films in which Gregory Peck appeared or produced. The remainder are for films unrelated to Peck that were released in the early to mid-1970s. They include production photographs from <span class=\"title\">Young Frankenstein</span> and stills from <span class=\"title\">That's Entertainment, Part II</span>.</p> <p>Posters are in color and advertise the films <span class=\"title\">Moby Dick</span>, <span class=\"title\">The Macomber Affair</span>, <span class=\"title\">Twelve O'Clock High</span>, <span class=\"title\">The Chairman</span>, and <span class=\"title\">Only the Valiant</span>. The typescript of <span class=\"title\">The Films of Gregory Peck</span> contains annotations, and the clippings contain reviews of Griggs's book.</p>"}
