Mr. and Mrs. Nikita D. Lobanov-Rostovsky were private collectors of drawings of Russian theatrical designs. Collection consists of 148 color slides depicting the work of Russian costume and set designers, 1884-1965, and 127 color slides of stage designs by the Russian avant-garde, 1911-1929, as well as the corresponding negative for each slide. Over fifty artists are represented in this collection. The collection also contains the catalogs for two traveling exhibitions of the designs in which each drawing is reproduced and identified. There are also 45 color slides that were not included in either exhibit.
