Adams Papers (Additions) consist principally of her files chronicling her work as a civic leader primarily with New York Democratic club activities, the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs (NANBPWC) and the National Council of Negro Women. These files contain correspondence, newsletters, programs, brochures, minutes of meetings, official memoranda, reports, invitations, and news clippings. Files of the NANBPWC also include membership records, directories of officers, handouts, annual conference programs, and the constitution. Geraldine L. Daniels was the first African-American women elected as Assemblywoman in the 70th Assembly District, located in Central Harlem. Daniels addressed the lack of nurses in the city by pressing the New York Counties Registered Nurses Association to reestablish the Harlem Hospital School of Nursing. She was a delegate to various state and national Democratic Conventions from 1960 - 1984. This collection highlights the time period when Assemblywoman Daniels held office, 1986 - 1992. The Aaron Diamond Foundation was a philanthropic foundation in New York City established by Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Diamond for the purpose of serving the public interest.
