The Roy Gonsalves papers contain an unpublished manuscript titled "City of Refuge"; a photocopy of his will' correspondence with his literary executor, Harold Robinson (1992); and photocopies of journal entries.
Biographical/historical information
Roy Gonsalves (1960-1993) was an African American gay poet, visual artist, and a literary performing artist. He published in a number of publications in his lifetime including Essence, The Pyramid Periodical, and Evening Sunshine.
As a performance artist, Gonsalves performed at the Studio Museum of Harlem, Men of All Colors Together, A Different Light Bookstore, and Yale University.
