Land papers of the Couwenhoven family of Brooklyn, New York, including deeds of conveyance, releases, leases, mortgages, and other legal papers concerning lands in Brooklyn, New York; Somerset County, New Jersey; Newark, New Jersey; New York City; and Newtown, Long Island (1687-1850). The earliest records document Jan Gerrit van Couwenhoven and his son Nicasius Couwenhaven.
