William K. Miller correspondence includes letters from Miller to his wife, Samantha, primarily dated at San Francisco, 1849-1850; these letters relate to his experiences there in the roofing business, and later in the clothing trade; his personal discouragements and ill health; fires in the city; and other matters. Also included are two letters from Spencer Beman to William K. Miller in San Francisco, sent from Brooklyn on September 20, 1849 and from New York on December 13, 1849
