Dennis Doyle was a grocer in New York City; he later formed a partnership with Josiah Carpenter as Doyle & Co. This account book contains records of orders from ships and ship passengers for food, liquor, and other "cabin items" from Doyle's grocery. Also includesd are records of accounts kept by Hester Doyle and bookkeeping exercises of Dennis M. Carpenter. Records range in date from 1823 to 1829
