Scope and arrangement
The collection consists of papers gathered by Paul W. Prindle for the purpose of compiling the genealogical books for Mr. and Mrs. Beinecke. Included is correspondence, 1969-1976, between Beinecke-Gillespie family members and Prindle who was trying to obtain names, addresses and biographical data; also correspondence with other professional genealogists. There are officially certified copies of vital and other records, 1669-1935; abstracts and excerpts from various records of genealogical value; maps, photographs and newspaper clippings, in addition to all of Prindle's notes.
Included also is a diary, 1865, of Jacob Austin Sperry which was printed verbatim in the volume Ancestry of William Sperry Beinecke.
