Correspondence and maps relating to the Kennebec Purchase Company (later the Plymouth Company), circa 1754 to 1756. Correspondents include Florentius Vassal, Joseph Sharpe, Timothy Prout, Thomas Vassal, William Shirley, and the Plymouth Company. Also present is an extract of a letter from the Committee of the Kennebec Company with notes on the state of their case for the Attorney General. Hand-colored manuscript maps depict the Kennebec River and country adjacent, including lands claimed by the Kennebec Company, Plymouth Company, and their opponents; and a map of the sea coast from the mouth of the Penobscot River to New London.
