Canal Street Presbyterian Church was founded in 1808 as the Orange Street or Irish Presbyterian Church. It was renamed in 1825, and dissolved in 1894. Orange Street later became Baxter Street. The records contain lists of marriages performed between 1815-1853 and baptisms performed in the church between 1816- 1829, during the pastorates of Rev. Henry Blatchford, Rev. John Albertus, and Rev. Robert McCartee.
